Humanity.
We are assortments of personalities, a cooking pot as if to speak.
We are children of the gods, a mixture of some or all

In the devastating fall
of the peaceful city of Troy
were you one of those
set to destroy?

or were you Athena
the penchant of wisdom and war
or were you Aphrodite
who created Helen for Paris's reward

did you fight by the sword
like Hector did
or did you create the chaos
like Eris with the apple of discord?

do you admit
to shooting the arrow into Achilles's heel for an attempt at victory?
Helen, did you just sit
knowing that you were the cause of this story?

There are no lies to being divine
The cursed fall of Troy did nothing but seperate through and through
the personalities were split into two
the bad and malicious, the good and true

Fight it you may
but you shall be forced to agree with what's true
some gods live inside everyone
please do convey to me
who are you?

Don't say you won't succeed, I really like the meaning and all. I like how you state your point in this way

I've written a poem about Troy as well a long time ago... though I focused more on Paris. I was more of a epic writer when I first joined DA. Glad there are people who has grasped mythology in their writings. Good job!

Some people say they haven't yet found themselves. But the self is not something one finds; it is something one creates.
Well, whatever you enter it in I definately hope it wins!
Awesome poem!

Congrats on winning the contest with it!
